Anni Perheentupa is a Finnish writer and editor who fell in love with English when she read Howl’s Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones in its original language as a child. She graduated from University of Helsinki with a BA in English in 2014, and soon after moved to the US to further her studies — and to get married. She now pursues an MA in English at San Diego State University, with an emphasis in her first true literary love: children’s and YA literature. She has a particular passion for fantasy and fairy tales.

She vicariously read the sincere stories of characters created by Judy Blume and Lauren Myracle as a pre-teen, and today, much of her writing is influenced by
her ever-expanding curiosity in youth culture. After she graduates from San Diego State University with a BA in Journalism, Sydney intends to put her Creative Editing and Publishing minor to use at a l
